Help creating a guild website.

Post by Etive »

Well hai der.

I'm a bit of a twat when it comes to this sort of thing. Basically I made a guild website using mmoguildsites.com. I'm looking to add some codes to give a nice raid progression section with mouseover tooltips and a nice colourful recruitment box and maybe some more useful stuff. I can't seem to find any codes that allow me to do this, and the apps that I have found ask that I upload files to the guild site server, unfortunately, either I'm thick as pig poop or this is not available with mmoguildsites. It's a premium account, so all features avalable.

Anyone with some mmoguildsite experience who is willing to give me a little hand would be muchly appreciated.

Cheers guys :)
Peace.

Etive, your stuck with what u have there m8. allot of mmo guild site chains like that one are very limited on what you can accomplish, i myself prefer to start from the ground up instead of half way there ( like you have) if your wanting something more advanced than what they can provide you truly are stuck because it seems u cant use <script> in there anywhere as i've just tried @ http://talonos.mmoguildsites.com/pages/progress

Here you can create custom BBcode or HTML pages to show in your site. These pages can be used to show specific info such as a guild charter, show content from another site with an iframe and more. With the HTML renderer you can use any tags except <script> and <form>.

thanks for your reply mate, I was worried you were gonna say that :9 I didn't create the site tbh, we have a guildee who already had the mmo premium account so we thought we'd use the tools we had. I'll have a look into other sites then, are there any you'd recommend as being fully customizable and relativeley easy to understand?

I think what talanos is saying by "the ground up" is registering a domain name (around 15.00$ /yr) and getting some web hosting( low as 4-6$ a month). then building the site up from there, using things like phpbb3 as your forum's, board 3 as your portal, and then of course all the wonderful wow mods we have made to spiffy things up. ;)

eqdkp if your guild is a raiding guild is also highly recommended.
Cylithina - Undead Warlock (Retired)
Guild - Iron Circle
Server - Llane
