Hello,,

I have now created my own board (PHPBB3) 3.0.8
Uhm its a music based forum, dj's/producers who can promoot there own tracks.

But i am new at phpbb3, i am used to be running vbulletin.
But money etc etc was the problem to buy + upgrade my version etc.

So went go to phpBB3, now i see this portal and i like it:
Some questions:
- What are the diffrents beteen this one, and the easyportal, or the other one?
- Is it easy to install, or not what you need.
- Are the after installing this still mods avibale or you cant use them anymore?

thanks in advance,,

I don't know about any other portal, but I installed this when I was very new to phpBB several years ago, and it was very easy. When you want to make changes to the layout, it gets more complicated, because it's been simplified by being made uber-modular. That means there are a lot of files to fiddle with if you want to tweak it for yourself.

As with any mod that makes database changes, you HAVE to be really careful with file edits before executing the install file.

Incidentally, I use several mods with the portal. Including Calendar, Gallery, mchat, social networking, advanced stats, and a few others I can't remember. You sometimes have to make changes to portal.php that you would make to index.php when doing your file edits, but it's fairly straightforward, and most of the time, the support on this board is pretty good.

all I can tell you is that Bill listed 3 portals on phpBB.com and Board3 was right at the top of the list

There you will find several portal MODs, including:
Board3 Portal
easyPortal
Stargate Portal
"easyportal" is not even listed by Bill :D
