Neverminddddd.

I was able to get the IP from just a ping like I thought I could.
But now I need to edit ventrilo_srv.ini and don't know how.

Don't even know where it is.
Can I do this from RCon?

sorry for late reply was on holiday.

sadly it isnt possible to edit the config for status.
the .ini file is located on the server it self, and most of the time
only edit-able if you control the VTserver yourself.

sadly i dont know a work-around this one.

I have the same problem, I assumed it was the hosting company blocking ports.

If this is not the case then I'd like to hear about it, http://www.instantventrilo.com/ventrilo ... status.php is a potential security issue if not properly configured.

I have configured it to not show any details such as IP and port number, but I have a suspicion it's all tucked away in the HTML somewhere.

well i installed everything right but i do not have this ventrilo_srv.ini file in the dl u gave me or on my webserver. where or how do i get/add this file

that file,
ventrilo_srv.ini is located in the directory where the ventrilo server is installed.
so not this script, but the server it self.

Ignore this, it appears I missed the bit about the .ini file.

Guess with my host being lame I will not be able to use this mod

Does it's work with ventrillo 3.0.1?

I isntall it accordance with VentriloBlock_install_board3.txt, i put the ip and port into to the ACP, and i see: What's wrong?

i havent been able to get it working correctly with 3.x.x versions.
but server down is mostly a firewall fault (if everything else is correct ofc)

sorry, i made this mod, shared it, but cant solve most of the issue's mentioned above.
i wish i had some more knowledge in this

Well I dont know what I did wrong. I installed on the correct changes, I entered in the proper server info into the ACP and cleared cache on the site and I see nothing on the front page of my portal. The acp says it should be enabled and showing the block but theres nothing there. Any ideas?

Should you be requesting that the TCP port be opened or the UDP port be opened? I had my shared host iopen the UDP port but its still showing that the vent server is down.

For Vent's on hosted servers, not local, I believe the issue is in not providing the password. Perhaps there is a way to pass the password to the server as well, basically logging into the server?

should be do-able by the command line suggested to get the query somewhere.

This mod is kinda released -as it is- vent is hard to deal with sometimes,
and with all its different versions, open ports, configs, you name it.

Well, i'm having a problem with the ventrilo block. I did all that instruccions file say, but i can't see the Ventrilo block in the ACP, I go to ACP --> System --> Administration Control Panel --> .Mods --> Portal and the drop down menu is not showing me anything about ventrilo. Where I made the mistake?

On the first page links to the files have been updated.
Probably i wont update this addon since it only worked nicely for me.
But i will check in the future if i will continue or not.
