I recently tried to install the portal but it does not show. I can only see the portal when I add /portal.php to the url and it contains no blocks at all.
How can I make the portal show correctly?

Yes I did and no errors.
I guess the main url should redirect to the portal so something went wrong anyway.

It doesnt redirect the url. Not unless you change the hosting permissions so it becomes the default.
There is also a "portal" permission you need to enable into your forum groups.... check that as well.
