Portal Text not lined up with the box

Post by mikey12561 »

Your Portal Version: 1.0.5
Your phpBB Type: Standard phpBB3
MODs installed: No
Your knowledge: Basic Knowledge
Boardlink: http://gayvoice.uni.cc

What have you done before the problem was there?
All I did was install a new theme for my site. The theme is prosilver based so it was easy to install and what not. I got it all working just find and dandy. However, where the links are and the text under usermenu they are like indented off the background. That would be the bullets I'm talking about.

What have you already tryed to solve the problem?
I've tried editing the portal.css file but that didn't seem to work for me. I think there is something that i'm missing.

Description and Message
Here is a pic to show whats wrong.

Clicking my fourm link will show it okay. You have to look at the link I posted on the message in message discription it will show the problem. I also need to change the blue around the boxes to the theme design if you could let me know on that too.

But if the error is gone, why should I look for a solution?

Anyhow, the solution to the error the picture is showing has been posted about 521 times on this board. I'll give you some hints: It has something to do with the portal stylesheet, with stylesheet.css and with the theme cache of your style.

And I know that and I've tried editing numerous of times and nothing happens. I clear the cache too.

The error isn't gone either. I would be talking about the right column. All the bulleted text/ links isn't lined up. I've tried the stylesheet and nothiner even portal.cc

Have you cleared your browser cache? In order to do that, press CTRL + F5 or in some browsers ALT + F5.

Listen please. I'm no idiot here. I've explained already. The right column the bulleted links are not lined up with the colum itself. I've edited the portal.css stylesheet refreshed everything but nothing has happened.

I understand you may have told plenty of people this already but just tell me what part to edit. Its not my browser becasue I have three computer right here and they all are doing the same thing.

Please replace your portal.css with the original one of the Board3 Portal package.

Just did. This time I have a Blue Buillet but the text is overlapping over the bullet.

Try this:
Open styles/*yourstyle*/theme/portal.css
Find:

Code: Select all

padding: 2px 0;
padding-left: 19px; /*link text is indented 19px*/
Replace with:

Code: Select all

padding: 2px 0 2px 19px;

unfortunatly that didn't do it.

Bullets are in the right spots now. Just getting the text to indent more to the right will help.

I just now need to get everything to match my theme. Like the background borders.

Please post how you fixed that, as it might help other users.

The background colors of the boxes are chosen by your style and not by the portal. Just look for .bg3 in your colours.css.

By the way, could you please delete the account I created for testing purposes: test123

I honestly don't know what I did. I deleted everything refering to the portal styles files and reuploaded them and refreshed and it worked.

I can delete the account with no problem.

My style has .bg3 as something different. Its for the UCP I think. Can I change which one portal looks for?
