I read the installation instructions.

Is it me, or do the installation instructions make no sense at all?

First it says to manually copy a bunch of files and then manually edit a bunch of other files, then at the bottom it says:

"DIY Instructions
These are manual instructions that cannot be performed automatically. You should follow these instructions carefully.

Code:Select All
Browse to install_portal/install.php and run the installer, after successfull installation delete the installer."

So, which is it then?

Just move the files there and run the installer?

Move the files there and manually edit them?

Or, move the files there, manually edit them, and then run the installer?

It seems to me that the installer should do the installing. No?

Also, the statement "These are manual instructions that cannot be performed automatically. You should follow these instructions carefully" is very strange, since it is in the section that refers to running the installer (which is not manual at all, it is automatic, no?) It seems that this warning should come before the file edit instructions ???

The structure of the install instructions and the packaging of the files is a phpBB3 standard. If you have a problem with the structure itself, phpbb.com is the best place for telling how to make it better.
