Working download block?

Hi,

Firstly, thanks for this mod. I like the versatility and ease of it. I just have one question, I would really like the implement a latest/top/popular block for my portal that works using Hotchi's download mod.
I see by searching that there had been one previously but can't find any further development. If anyone how to make this work please post here.
