Change style of 'Recent' module

Currently I have the following 'Recent' module on my portal:

Is it possible to show new and recent posts like this (with more information)?:

That is not possible, but there is the module Latest news

Yes, but I don't think it can show popular topics?

It depends on the settings in ACP/Post settings on "Popular topic threshold"

With the module Latest news you can set the following:

Sort in order to the newest posts:
When activated, the newest will be sorted in order to the newest posts. When deactivated, the news will be sorted in order to the newest topic.
